'May the Lord Jesus Christ be amongst you to defend you, within you to
preserve you, before you to guide you, after you to guard you, above you to
bless who with the father and the holy sprit lives and reigns forever and ever.
Amen.'
After a long tiring day, these words can put at ease. I am not all
that religious honestly, by which I mean I don't visit any holy place everyday
but there's a force that I believe in. And to see what I believe in, I started
attending novena at Mahim Church. I was told, make it for nine consecutive
Wednesdays and your wish will be granted.
It works! Not that I demanded
to be the Prime Minister of the country, it was an achievable wish but a wish is
a wish! More than anything else, its peaceful and
makes you feel less guilty
hoping all bad deeds are forgiven.
Besides the prayer, Mahim church's
attempt at spreading the good word on its board outside is quite interesting.
Novena sessions happen at least 10-12 times on a Wednesday and each time you
would find thousands of people crawling on their knees here. (No, crawling is
not compulsory) You can sit and listen to prayers too. Its soothing and
pleasing! It was strong enough to invite me again.
