If you are a Sardar with a good Surdy sense of humour, bindaas attitude,
authentic Sardar accent and under 18 years old, please contact me.
Under 18 because I generally like Sardars only
till that age. I am not being racist. Lot of my friends are Sikh and I love
them all. Just that I love Sardar kids more than Sardars themselves :-)
This long story because the first half n hour of the movie was about this
under-18-year-old sardar, whose name is Lucky. He always wants things to go his
way, no matter what. His cool attitude, accent and acting stole my heart.
The story did not change when he grew up. The older cut-surd Abhay Deol too is
just too charming. He is a thief and not a cool thief like Hrithik Roshan from
Dhoom but a cheap thief who doesn’t even leave show-peices or chindi photo frames. ;-)
I wouldn’t say the movie made me laugh my guts out but it did bring a smile to
my face. I did sense a bit of pain in my jaws by the end of it. Reason could
be Abhay Deol. There is something in him which the other Deol brothers don’t
have. It’s got no story line, just a fun-no-brainer-flick with a retro feel.
I know a lot of you need a break from the news channels flashing breaking news
after every five minutes. I am not saying forget the incident but be brave,
smile and fight. There is nothing that can stop you from going to a mall or a
multiplex. This is your country, not anyone else’s!
And BTW, Aaoji Khaoji was the restaurant's name started by Lucky Singh! If I ever open a restaurant, you know what it will be called :-)
Oye Lucky Lucky Oye! Oyeeeeeee Lucky!
